Just what I needed!
I am so glad someone created this. I process information best visually so a money management app that allows you to visualize your flow of funds is way better for me than one that only does so numerical & text-based like so many other apps. Also, I love that you can have multiple accounts (I have one to represent my debit card, another for cash on hand, and a third for savings account). I hated that so many other apps required you to link your bank account -- I wanted a manual one because part of the reason I needed this was to compare my own transaction history against the banks records. Also I needed a way to "set aside" money for bills until I got around to paying them (& have that amount deducted from what my bank says my available balance is), so for that I have one of my CoinKeeper expense categories set to "Bills to be paid" -- I drag the funds out of my coins balance & tag each one with the bill & due date. Then when Im ready to sit down and pay the bills which I need to write out checks for, I just scroll through that list & move each transaction to the correct category (Rent, Utilities, etc.)
The drag & drop functionality is so easy and fun to use, too! Lastly, I love that you can try it out for free (I hate it when you have to pay up front, cause what if you find out the app doesnt meet your needs after all?) and that there is an all-inclusive one-time "unlimited subscription" option available (cause if Im already needing an app to help me track where all my money is going, the last thing I need is another monthly or annual recurring fee). :)
The only things which kept me from rating this 5 stars instead of 4 are:
1. Sometimes it crashes on me (but this also might be because my phones memory is close to being full at the moment).
2. It would be nice if the app started up faster. Its not terribly slow, but a quicker response when first opening the app would be nice for when I want to quickly log a purchase I just made. So instead I find myself keeping the app open throughout the day so its ready when I need it. Not a big deal.
3. And lastly, it would be excellent if there was a spot to jot down a note associated with each transaction. I have a category for "Digital Media" and using tags to note whether a purchase was for Netflix, Amazon, iPhone app, etc. but it would also be nice to have a note associated with each entry. I like that I can view each category broken down by tags (subscription feature) but if at the end of the year I wanted to see what all I spent $ on in a certain sub-category a note on each transaction would be helpful. :)
Other than that, the only other enhancements Id suggest would be fixing the decimal point on the calculator (it is displaying as a comma instead of a period even though my currency is set to US dollars) and incorporating some budgeting features/bill reminders. If I had a spot within this app to list all of my recurring bills, date last paid, next due date, and website and/or mailing address where payment must be sent, this would be my one-stop shop for all my basic budgeting needs. :) Id be willing to pay another $0.99 for that functionality if it were added. Thanks!
